Hale joins Blue Jays

Old news is still news, so with that said I’ll point out that the Blue Jays hired DeMarlo Hale to be their new bench coach.

Hale was previously the third base coach for the Baltimore Orioles after spending six seasons coaching the (I hate to say it) Boston Red Sox.  He is well respected across Major League Baseball and was in the running to be hired as Skipper of the Blue Jays back when AA named Farrell as manager.  He brings an analytical mind that will take Brian Butterfield’s position as the infield coach.

If the hiring of Hale doesn’t get you excited when you first hear the news, maybe the reaction of Orioles centre fielder Adam Jones will put a grin on your face…

*tweet is stolen from this Shi Davidi article that expands on the current coaching situation… thanks Shi.
