Gibbons back in town?

It has been reported by Hall of Fame writer Bob Elliott of the Toronto Sun that former manager John Gibbons will be the new manager of the Blue Jays.

Gibbons led the club to a 305-305 (.500) win/loss record over parts of five seasons, he replaced Carlos Tosca after 112 games in 2004. Gibbons was fired by J.P Ricciardi who inserted Cito Gaston for his second stint as the teams manager.

Gibbons is somewhat of a dark horse as his name has not been leaked through the National media as dozens of others have but he does have a link as Alex Anthopoulos worked under Ricciardi during Gibbons tenure.

It’s possible he could be introduced as manager as early as Tuesdays 9:30 am news conference as Elliott also mentioned Anthopoulos and Gibbons were spotted having dinner together on Sunday night.
