The Blue Jays beefed up their bullpen on Friday, signing lefty reliever Aaron Laffey.
In 47 relief appearances split between the Seattle Mariners and New York Yankees he posted a 3.88 ERA with a 3-2 record in 2011.
His desire to return to a starting role is what lead him to Toronto. According to Sportsnet’s Shi Davidi, Laffey is expected to compete for a spot in the rotation at spring training.
